A forex broker’s income consists primarily of two parts: first, profits earned from their own forex trading; and second, commission income earned from managing forex trades for clients.Generally speaking, the principal that individuals use for forex trading is relatively limited. If a forex broker wants to expand their principal, increase leverage to boost returns, and raise their income, their primary focus should be on how to attract more clients, expand their pool of capital, and increase their forex commission income. So, how can a forex broker looking to start their own business find clients?I will elaborate on this from the following two perspectives:
I. Get Clients to Come to You
Some of you might wonder, “I’m not a famous forex trader—why would clients come looking for me on their own?” When you ask this question, you’ve already identified the key point: “I’m not a famous forex trader.” But what if you were?
There’s no set standard for what makes someone a “celebrity.” It could be as broad as the entire forex trading community or as narrow as your neighborhood or circle of friends. If, within your own circle, people remember you as someone skilled at forex trading who has built a fortune through it, then you’re a “celebrity” in that circle. This circle can grow from small to large, and your client base can expand from a few to many.
- Make the Most of Your Social Circle
Since your Moments feed consists mainly of people you know, it’s easier to build trust and attract your first batch of clients. For many forex entrepreneurs, their initial client base is built entirely from their own social media circles. By leveraging your accumulated knowledge of forex, you can share trading insights, case studies, and your own profit results daily in your feed. This helps establish your persona as someone who “excels at forex trading.”After being exposed day after day to your “brainwashing-style” forex education and screenshots of your profits, they’ll start thinking about investing some money to try forex trading—and that’s when you’ll have incubated your first batch of clients. Once your first clients get a taste of the profits from forex trading, they’ll spread the word to their own social circles, helping you generate even more business.
Sharing on Moments and the secondary reach generated by “Like” clicks. For the personal WeChat official account you manage, you can encourage friends and family to help share and spread the content, and to click “Like” on the account’s posts—this way, there’s a chance their friends will become some of your first customers.
- Make Effective Use of Social Media for Communication
The rapid development of the internet has transformed the way we work, live, and entertain ourselves. Currently, short videos—thanks to their visual appeal, vividness, and ease of sharing—are capturing a significant portion of people’s fragmented time. Take Douyin, the most popular platform today, as an example: it currently has over 600 million daily active users. With such massive platform traffic, forex brokers can build a following by sharing forex knowledge through short videos, then retain those followers on their personal accounts via live streams to monetize their audience. At the same time, short-video platforms will use the tags and characteristics of your content to automatically promote your videos to more users interested in those tags, allowing you to build a larger, more targeted fan base. You can also distribute a single piece of content across multiple platforms to reach as many followers as possible.
- You take the initiative to seek out clients
- Look for places where customers gather
Forex brokers can use forex-specific platforms to find clients. Forex traders typically gather on niche knowledge-sharing platforms, forums, and communities, where you’ll find a more targeted pool of potential clients.
2. Acquire customers through targeted advertising
All social media platforms offer advertising services, allowing forex brokers to promote their original educational video content through ads, attract more followers, and ultimately monetize their content.
- Follow stock investors in your network
As the public’s international perspective broadens, more and more stock investors are switching to forex trading. Compared to ordinary mutual fund investors, stock investors are more likely to become potential forex clients.
The above are some of my thoughts on how forex brokers can find clients. I hope you find them helpful.
